Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for High Cholesterol

Keep your pizza intake to one slice to avoid high cholesterol intake while you dine at Pizza Hut. Skip Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice as it contains a high amount of fat and the sodium levels are also very high. Avoid the desserts section completely to limit the fat and sugar intake. You can also limit yourself from ordering non-veg pizza and skip adding sides or dressing on your orders to ensure that your cholesterol is in check while dining at Pizza Hut.

First time there today. Although we went during the lunch time rush hour, it was really worth it. Lunch was the right price as well - $4.99 for the personal pizza and side salad (a Monday through Friday lunch special!). Pepperoni personal pizza on the multi grain crust was good. Last time I enjoyed thin crust like this, I was living in Brookline and frequenting a different pizza joint. The side salad seemed as big as the pizza. Cesar dressing wasn't over powering. Next time I go for lunch, I'm going to try the pepperoni on white, just to see if there is any major difference. It seems that everyone in there today, was going for the lunch special, and judging by the lack of empty seats, Pizza Fusion is a hidden gem in the plaza its in. Definitely going back!

Gluten/dairy free never tasted so good. Had the Vegan with mushrooms, spinach and eggplant.. Seriously impressed.

1 Star removed for PRICE: Before I get to the good, I'll run through my only problem: prices. Most irregular pizzas (you know, the delicious ones you're definitely going to order) range from $15 up to $20, with most being in the $18-$20 range. This is a little too expensive for comfort, especially given the sizes. When I read 18", I had imagined a large round 18" in diameter to pie. Because their pies are rectangular (something that, though labeled and advertised as such, I hadn't initially absorbed,) this ends up being a lot less pizza overall. That said... Oh man, this is GOOD pizza. We got the Farmer's Market (a choice we had a tough time making in the first place due to the interesting selection,) and it was loaded with fresh, well prepared veggies. Everything here is about flavor and not over-loading the cheese or over-salting the sauce. Just pure (and apparently all natural) flavor. We highly recommend the multigrain crust. Kind of tastes like cheerios (in a good way,) and its amazing. Though, not sure how it'd taste with a less conservative topping selection. We also got the meatball sliders, which is a fancy way to name a meatball sub on garlic bread (cut into 3 sections.) It was also very good, and a nice compliment to our meatless pizza. It was a modest size appetizer, and hard to imagine as sharable with more than 2 people (yeah, its 3 sections, but they aren't super big.) It was $7, which is just a little high, but not unreasonable. The quality of the food is absolutely worth it, but the asking price makes it a difficult sell for a casual pizza night. Eitherway, we'll be back!

thank you for your great GLUTEN FREE pizza. This is a present from heaven for my wife!!

Pizza Fusion in Naples is a great place for gluten free pizza. It is actually like "real" pizza. So delicious. Great service. So glad they are new neighbors in town. Naples location needs to get their info on Yelp!!!

It was everything people told me it would be. It has ruined a lot of other pizza places for me

Good gluten free pizza. Ordered take out. The crew we were feeding finished it. Actually, we ordered both regular & gluten-free pizzas. Everyone thought the gluten-free pizza was the best.

Possibly the best pizza I've ever eaten! Multigrain crust was wonderful & having organic ingredients made this first class!! Delivery was on time & ordering on line was no problem.

  • Ray E.

I love their pizza, and our daughter is gluten intolerant, and their tasty gluten free pizza is a rarity in ft myers. I would mark them a 5 star, but they are a bit pricy.

I came here when I was in town for my best friend's wedding. This place was WAY out of the way, but it was 100% worth the detour. 110% The pizza was so damn good and there was even some deal where on Mondays when you order a pizza, you get a 2nd plain cheese pizza for free (?) Amazing. Their vegan pizza was absolutely the best I've ever eaten. The place seemed like a fun hang out and I hated that we had to get our food to-go. The bar had this awesome icey strip for you to set your drink on to keep it cold. If I'm ever within a 50-mile radius of this place again, I'll be there.

This is a very nice pizza shop with vegan accommodations. Pizza was great, food was fresh, service was as expected. They have some pre made items on the menu so it's not vegan-friendly, but most of their pizzas can be made with vegan alternatives. They have an okay beer/wine selection. Their prices are a little expensive, but that's what happens when you eat healthier food. The ambiance is really nice, nothing like your average pizza shop. On the menu they have several optional topping which you can have added to your pizza. They also have a few different dough options: white, multigrain and gluten-free. They even have a vegan brownie for dessert (which was a little dry in my opinion)... I'll come back here to eat when I visit Fort Myers again.

Cigar City Brewing beer and Vegan pizza - hooray! Vegan recommendation: - Very Vegan Pizza with multigrain crust. Tip: - $19 credit for a bottle of wine with the purchase of a large pizza on Tuesdays. The house bottle of chardonnay costs $19. What a deal! Buy a large pizza and get a free bottle of wine!

  • Christopher G.

Great pizza, friendly service, but a little pricey. I love the fact they offer GF and I like their locally brewed beers!

  • Heidi B.

Very good service and nice presentation of food. I had the Farmer's Market personal pizza for lunch and it was very good. The artichokes tasted fresh cooked, not like from a jar. Only drawback is the price, for lunch, is a bit much. About $11 with a drink for me. Awesome menu though with vegan and gluten free options.

A new resident of Fort Myers, I've been on the lookout for restaurants to fall in love with. The search was becoming relatively disappointing until I tried Pizza Fusion-- which I'm sure will become a spot I frequent now that I'm an official Lee County resident! While Pizza Fusion is a chain (an international chain, no less!) if you were to stumble into this place, you'd never know it. It's found in an unassuming strip mall, but inside, it's a nice, laid back yet sophisticated setting for a reasonably-priced pizza joint. It's green-friendly through and through, so the walls are decorated with facts about it's earth-aiding endeavors (i.e. delivery cars are all hybrids). The staff was incredibly friendly-- at first I thought we had just caught our server on a great day, he was so upbeat, but I soon realized that it seems like that's just the demeanor of the employees, which is very refreshing! My fellow diner and I sat at the bar and he was full of interesting tidbits and helpful dining tips, despite the fact that he was incredibly busy. I was so excited to find such a friendly and refreshingly healthy place, I probably wouldn't have even minded if the pizza wasn't all that great... but it's FANTASTIC. They have so many great options, from vegan pizzas to meaty (although free range) dishes. I tried the Founder's Pizza and would highly recommend it. Unlike most of your typical chain pizzerias, you can choose between wheat or white crust, allowing you to be a bit healthier if you so please. Perhaps my favorite part of this place is one I should keep a secret. But without too many Yelpers in Fort Myers, I guess I can let it slip-- if you're a wine drinker, the night to come is Tuesdays. Each table ordering a pizza gets a wine credit, which meant that I tried a delicious pizza, drank half a bottle of great wine, and had a throughly pleasant evening for less than $12. I'm not sure it gets much better than that!

  • Melissa S.

This place is amazing. The menu is 75% organic, and I know when I come here that they aren't just microwaving something that has been precooked and frozen. The Farmer's Market pizza with multigrain crust is my absolute favorite! They have great wine and happy hour specials. The downsides are that it is tiny inside and in season I don't even bother going because the wait is so long. The wait staff is great, but sometimes the food takes a bit to arrive. I don't feel too badly about that, since good things often take time.

Got say it Rocks!! Deliver fast and Driver very cool... Best pizza for night by the pool!! Phone service helpful! Pizza was gone in 4 minutes flat!!

A little pricey, but worth it for fresh food that is full of flavor! I had a salad and sampled some of my boyfriends pizza and both were great! They have a lot of fun, creative options which I love..definitely look forward to coming back and trying more off the menu.

Delish. In the area on vacation. We've tried a variety of the pizza in the top ten for ft. Meyers. This was by far the best.

  • Ryan F.

Had a pepperoni, mushroom, onion and tomato pizza tonight. It was awesome! The pizzas taste great and they have lots of menu options for anyone's dietary restrictions. I would give it five stars, but the only downfall is the price of the pizza and they only have two sizes. I don't mind the price I paid, but it would only feed about two people... Would like a little more bang for my buck!

Fantastic salad and pizza pies! This little spot has super-friendly staff and excellent food. My wife eats here all the time, but today was my first visit. All I can say is that I can hardly wait to visit again.

I don't understand the appeal to this restaurant. Their pizza did not have roasted vegetables, more like microwaved and then added. I would not return.

  • Bill M.

We were a little leery of this place, with all the organic talk, but we were very happy we stopped in. We had an excellent chicken pesto pizza, and the organic draft wasn't half bad. The waitstaff in this relatively tiny place were efficient and knowledgeable. A definite keeper.

  • Dame V.

I certainly appreciate the eco-friendliness of this place, and the vegan and organic options. I ordered a personal pizza with garlic, spinach, and vegan cheese, and thought it was pretty good. The crust is very thin, a la flatbread, and I would have preferred something more traditional. Still, the toppings were good, and we were all happy with the beer and wine selections.

  • Abbey G.

Favorite place to go for pizza and a bottle of wine. Brown, the owner, is incredibly friendly and so are all the patrons! Really great organic foods with a ton of vegetarian choices (along with vegan and gluten free options). Love the company's mission and what they're aiming to do!

Great place for afordable, yummy, organic pizza! Owners are very nice and atmosphere is great!

  • Cameron C.

This place has good pizza and great salads. The crispy wheat crust was tasty, the sauce slightly sweet and the cheese exceptional. However the toppings were light with one oversized pepperoni on each slice. Service was spotty and getting refills was an issue. Just did enough to get 4 stars but if we go back and service is still weak I would say 3 stars.

    (4)
  • Amber L.

Super yummy, super nice staff. I had the pear and gorgonzola and added chicken. Very good. The crust wasn't tough, and it was evenly topped. The kids I was dining with had the bacon pizza, which I stole a bite of and the sauce was the most amazing thing! Can't wait to go back and try more!

  • Alexandra D.

This place is my favorite pizza place, back home- hands down! I started coming to Pizza Fusion when I was pregnant with my son per a friend's recommendation. I immediately got hooked on the greek pizza, and also on their arugula and beet salad. The bathrooms are always clean, and the restaurant is very obviously eco-friendly from the bar top made out of recycled glass bottles, to the recycled table tops, and the organic and fresh ingredients. I continued to eat here (probably at least once a week) throughout my pregnancy, and after my son was born, and once he was old enough to eat solid foods, of course, I kept up the ritual and he loves it here, too. I can't tell you how hard it is to find gluten-free and vegan-friendly foods in a restaurant. I have such a hard time going out to eat because I am constantly fighting to find fresh foods. Pizza Fusion takes the risk and worry out of eating right, and actually makes it fun. Don't miss this place when you're in the South.

DON'T GO WITH KIDS EXCEPT ON WEDNESDAY.... ONLY ON "KIDS NIGHT" FOR FAMILIES Sorry to write this but, tried to work it out with the server and the manager to no avail. Tuesday is wine night - buy a large pizza for around $18 or $19 and get $19 off a cheap bottle of wine, menu priced around $23 = decent pizza + even though lower end wine, nice deal for dinner out and all around used to be a cool place to eat. We've been there around 10 or 12 times and half of those or fewer on a Tuesday in off season... given that each pie has about 12 to 16 ounces total of ingredients. Pizza has a good profit margin. My point: they aren't losing money on Tuesdays, buying cheap wine at wholesale in bulk for $3 or $4 /bottle, and pizza by nature is cheap to make, they aren't losing money otherwise they wouldn't offer it! Not only do the bathrooms need to be cleaner but, we went there tonight with kids. The menu clearly says "Tuesday: buy a large pizza, get $19 off a bottle of wine". I ordered 2 specialty large pizzas and 2 bottles of wine- most tables had 4 adults, 2 pizzas, and the 2 bottles of wine but, our party was refused the 2 deal. "That's only if all 4 people are drinking" I was told by both the manager and the server. If you were a party of 4 adults, like many other diners, you would get the deal. But instead we were penalized and essentially charged more for having the 2 other people in our party not of drinking age. No soft drinks were offered as a substitute just a bogus excuse. Won't go back and my advice to Pizza Fusion is - Don't offer a deal on something if you can't follow through.

Because of all the yelp reviews, I was expecting the pizza to blow my mind. The pizza is ok, but definitely not awesome. I think it's a little pricey for the size. I had the sausage pizza on the multigrain crust. The pizza is a little sweet, if you're into that. And the sausage was spicy!! The decor inside is so cute. I love the wooden table with the background information of where it came from. All in all, I do not think I'm missing out if I don't go back, but I'm glad I tried their pizza.

  • Joe Z.

Starts out as a typical fire roasted pizza place, then u find out they do vegan, gluten free, and Multigrain options. But of course, this restaurant is green baby! Reclaimed wood tables, eco-friendly cleaner, hybrid delivery cars. Tons of ingredients you wouldn't normally find on pizza like goat cheese and artichokes. They also do wraps and soups.

Excellent pizza and not run of the mill. Worth going out of your way for. Friendly service and delicious fresh squeezed lemonade. Wife and I got the founders pizza which was yummy. Our picky daughter got a plain cheese pizza and gobbled it up with no complaints. They had vegan options as well which we didn't try. Pleasant interior. Unfortunately located in a strip mall.

My monthly "Supper Club" has only ever repeated Pizza Fusion (we try a new local spot every month). When our original place fell through, we unanimously approved the repeat. The Pear and Gorgonzola pizza was a huge hit, though you can't go wrong here. It's a very small restaurant, so best for smaller parties, but with notice they were able to accommodate our group of 15 or so. I only wish I lived closer!

On a busy day hire more people. Ours was delivered by a server. 30 minutes past the time they stated and it was barely warm and very chewy. Nothing like all the previous times we ordered. Guess I won't order pizza during snowbird season. Or just never again.

Foods always GREAT!! Lots to choose from... when we eat here you don't feel bloated or sick after eating ... their grain whole wheat crust is good and the gluten free one also... their best pizza BBQ chicken... service could be more talkative little nicer ... but the food is fabulous also the stuffed mushrooms are out of this world fabulous

  • Cyd ..

I appreciate that Pizza Fusion offers both vegan and gluten free options. Unfortunately, after a couple of attempts at the GF pizza I confess I simply don't like it. The crust is cracker thin, which was a nice change from the typical gluey/chewy GF crust experience; however, the sauce and cheese have a strong off taste that reminded me of stale tap water.

  • Carol B.

Small place in a strip mall with really good food. Everything is super fresh. No freezer on the property. The pizza is thin flatbread like but very tasty. There is gluten free choices too. They will even let you do some toppings on one half and others on the other half. All fresh. Very organic feel. They even have wine

Their gluten free vegan pizza is good as well as their gluten free vegan brownies

Nice place (Naples location), kudos for organic ingredients. I ordered the gluten free with Daiya cheese and it wasn't bad, not amazing but not bad. I really have yet to have a gluten free that is amazing anyhow. Ingredients were really fresh and clean, great salad that had arugula in it so props for that....soda is sweetened with cane sugar Prices are ok, my waitress was super sweet and friendly Conscious pizza place, i like it....definitely will be back in

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST pizza joint around. Hands down. It very much deserves its high ratings. For starters, can you imagine an eco-friendly pizza restaurant in Florida? That's practically an oxymoran. This place is! From environmentally friendly delivery vehicles to available gluten free pizzas and fresh organic ingredients, it breaks the mold. It's not a "mom & pop," but it certainly had the feel of one and is a delightful change from the corporate pizza parlors that inhabit every strip mall. So how are the pizzas? Well, I had the Pear & Gorgonzola Pizza with multigrain crust that was surely one of the very best pizzas I've ever had. My wife had the Sausage & Tricolor Pepper Pizza with multigrain crust and it, too, was fabulous. BTW, our salad before the pizzas was also fantastic. And, wonder of wonders, it was served room temperature which I have always thought to be the very best way to serve salad. It has much more flavor and wasn't just taken out of the fridge. To drink? I asked for a Coke Zero and was told they only had Boylan's natural Diet Cane Cola which proved to be excellent. Food - 5 STARS Service - 5 STARS Ambiance/Decor - 3 1/2 STARS Location - 4 STARS Value - 5 STARS

Gluten free is an extra $5 dollars. Tomato sauce reminded me of my cafeteria lunch at school. Missing love in their pizzas.

  • Craig D.

I like the fact that their food is natural, mostly organic and preservative free. But it all comes at a premium. Pizzas are small and ingredients are scarce. You can get a choice of crust; Either white or multi-grain. Gluten free is an up charge.. You can order over priced wine all feel good about it knowing you are eating at an eco-friendly restaurant. After all their delivery vehicles are Prius's.

For the Vegan. Yes they have a Vegan Pizza. And pizza , soup, sandwiches for your non Vegan friends. Great staff and the owners are just as friendly.

Pizza Fusion offers some of the best pizza I've had so far in the Cape/FM area. Definitely a nice, easy, tasty dinner to get as take out on your way home from the beach. I've tried the sausage and tri-color pepper specialty pizza as well as a make your own that I had sundried tomatoes, sweet Italian sausage and pineapple on it. I enjoyed both pies and I really like that they offer multi-grain crust as well as gluten free for those of us trying to watch our girlish figure or with gluten insensitivities. My only complaint is that I do find their specialty pizzas just slightly overpriced by maybe a dollar or two, which isn't much in the grand scheme of things especially since you're getting a good quality product. Just my two cents :)

Absolute favorite place to order pizza! Some might call it flatbread instead of pizza if being very technical. The restaurant prides itself on using natural, fresh and organic ingredients. Which is why I love it and also why it tastes so good and helps me feel less guilty after devouring several in a night. My favorite thing is that no matter which pizza you want, you have the option to have it on the organic white crust or the multi-grain (they also offer a gluten free crust). I have tried just about every menu item, except the sandwiches, and have even customized many pizzas. My top 3 favorites are: the pepperoni is as amazing as it says it is, farmer's market with organic chicken added to it, tuscan steak & Gorgonzola. If you want an appetizer I recommend the stuffed mushrooms (sausage, goat cheese, and spices). And if I am feeling like really carb loading, I order the warm chocolate chip cookies! They serve Boylans natural soda, plus organic beer and wine. They also have the good juice (Honest Kids) for the kiddos! Luckily our new home is in the delivery zone!!! But if you are going to dine in, be warned that peak times during Season will leave you seat less because there is limited seats inside as is.

Good pizza, but an 18" is very oblong and therefore serves 3 people who are not too hungry. Free delivery on orders over $16, which wasn't hard (two items in addition to the basic cheese 18" pizza). We did tip; unfortunately so did the case holding our pizza... order was tilted while the cheese was still hot, so one half of the pizza was cheese-heavy while the other side was mostly sauce. Sorry, Marsala's down at Corkscrew is still a better deal and their pizza is amazing, but it's too far for dinner for us. Going to try one other local place Yelpers have been raving about :-) I can understand how gluten-free people would be very devoted to PF, though.

Best gluten-free pizza I've ever had. The atmosphere is very welcoming, all the employees are nice, and I love knowing the ingredients are good and good for me. Definitely recommended - amazing!

Fort Myers rejoice. Vegan-friendly pizza options have arrived! Pizza Fusion has good pizza, great bread sticks, a decent wine selection and reasonable prices. The wait staff are friendly and helpful and the service is quite fast. I've been here once about a year ago and would definitely go back. I was really impressed by their menu and their focus on being more eco-friendly and organic than other pizza places.

The restaurant was small, but served by three very friendly waitresses. Our server was so helpful, even bringing us beer to taste before we ordered it. I had the fusion salad which was outstanding, fresh and the dressing was unbelievably good. The single serving pizza was more than enough for one person. Everything was so good. I can't wait to go back!!

Zucchini app is fresh and tasty (and vegan). Never disappointed with my pizza orders. Wish it was a larger place only because I selfishly want to be sat the minute I walk in so I can start gobbling up this yummy, healthy food....guilt free. (It's so healthy that I want to sign up to run a Marathon when I finish)...nah..not really.

Just stopped in for a drink and a bite to eat. I am always amazed at how fresh and delicious the food is. My taste buds are so happy! To boot, they have Gateway Gold on tap, I've found my new favorite beer! Love it here-

Thank you for making my being Gluten Free so tolerable! After spending a few good years in LA, and discovering Pizza Fusion, I was sad to think that I wouldn't have it again.. I was so delighted to find this location with the help of Yelp! I stopped here during my 2 week cross country road trip for a well deserved and needed gluten free fix. Their pizza never fails me. Ingredients that are fresh and tasty, service that is above standard and ambiance that is much desired! Keep it up pizza people!

From the moment that you walk in the door, you feel not only welcome, but entranced. The menu has a myriad of not only vegetarian, but vegan options. Regardless of your palette, Pizza Fusion has something for you to eat, drink, and enjoy.. (Not to mention that all of the ingredients are pure and natural!) I have never had a less than perfect meal here, and I do come a few times a month. Do not miss Pizza Fusion if you are to ever visit Fort Myers. It is definitely an experience worth living and eating through many times over.

My whife has a gluten allergy and was super happy to be able to eat a pizza from a real pizzeria instead of baking them at home. All pizzas are delicious. The non glutenfee pizzas are more expensive compared to other places, but I am sure there is a reason for this (organic means more expensive).
